Capture the Moments

At ADORE Events, we believe that a Wedding is more than planning a beautiful day for our brides and grooms.   As the owner of a Wedding and Event Planning company, I take a lot of pride in the events that we produce.  Not only am I focused on making sure our Bride is happy all day, but that mom and dad are able to enjoy the precious moments with their daughter, that the guests are enjoying the celebration, and that all vendors are able to work together to produce a flawless event.  Those are just a few examples of the moments shared on a wedding day.

A huge reminder of “Capturing the moments” and why I Coordinate weddings hit me very hard a little over a week ago.  My sweet friend, Sara, lost her battle with stage 4 Cancer.  There is no way to describe how much she will be missed and how much the world is missing out on her presence. She truly “Lived” each and every day!  A true example of cherishing the moments of every single day.

When planning a wedding, a bride thinks about colors, budget, style, locations, flowers, etc. etc. etc of endless details.  When you put your guest list together- think about the people you are inviting- not only are you asking for them to join your Celebration so you can see them, but for them to be able to have their own moments.  It may be seeing you walk down the aisle as they have watched you grow up, a new friend from work, a grandmother’s dying wish to see you get married, or a family reunion where cousins meet for the first time and become lifelong friends.

How does my friend Sara’s death relate to wedding planning?  Sara happened to be a guest of a wedding I Coordinated last year.   At the end of my Coordination I was able to stop for a minute and take a photo with Sara in the photobooth that the bride had at the Reception, at The Thomas Center.  I’ve been in the wedding industry for years and never once have I thought that having a photobooth at a reception would have the impact that it’s had this past week.

The day I got the news of Sara’s passing, I immediately emailed my friend, Lindsey over at PURE Photography who sent me this photo below.  This captured memory is now one of the last photos I will ever have with Sara.

Thank you Mollie, our bride, for choosing professional vendors to capture your day.  Thank you Lindsey for creating this timeless treasure.

Brides-  Don’t let the wedding planning process stress you out.   Do think about the moments that will be cherished on your special day.  They will be forever lasting!

***Love to you sweet Sara!!
